What is slippage or spread?

When you trade on Fasset, the price you see and the price you pay may differ slightly. This is due to two common market factors: slippage and spread.

Slippage

Slippage is the difference between the expected price of a trade and the price at which it executes. This can happen when the market price moves between placing and completing an order, or when a large order is filled across multiple trades at slightly different prices.

Spread

Spread is the difference between the highest price a buyer is willing to pay and the lowest price a seller is willing to accept. On Fasset, a 0.50% spread applies to all trades. This means the price you buy or sell at will be 0.50% above or below the mid-market price.
